The designation grass-fed might give you the impression that the packaged meat and dairy products are from animals who have been fed grass all their life. When the USDA dropped its official definition of grass-fed,' it opened the door for almost any bovine product to be labeled as such, no matter how much or how little grass an animal has actually been fed.
