The Open Philanthropy Project criticized Whole Foods' Global Animal Partnership (GAP for having weak enforcement and for providing only slight improvements over standard factory farming conditions.[1] For example, according to Consumer Reports, "standards for slaughter do not exist at any level for chickens and there is no limit on their rate of growth."[2]
GAP doesn't even publish standards for dairy cows, arguably the most abused of any of the farmed mammals.
